Halloween 2025 Event Guide

The Halloween 2025 event for Residence Massacre dropped on October 24, 2025 and ran through the Post-Halloween patch on November 23, 2025. Tea Studio and MisterGamer_67 treated it as more than a skin drop: a new scripted memory (The Bunker), a permanent Night 3 modifier (Graves), the return of the Bloodmoon badge route on Night 2, and the new Purgatory badge for crimson vault runs. This hub stitches those threads together so you can plan badge grinds, modifier clears, and memory unlocks in a single loop. Use the Modifiers hub and the Updates index if you want the chronological version of the same story.

Event timeline at a glance

  • October 24, 2025 — Halloween launch patch. Bunker hatch opens in lobby, Lakeview Cabin 3 bench unlocks the Lakeview Ghost whisper route.
  • October 31, 2025 — Trick-or-treat crate refund window opens for active players who logged in between launch and Halloween night.
  • November 7, 2025 — Purgatory badge activates; crimson vault enters the badge pool on Night 3 with the Graves modifier.
  • November 23, 2025 — Post-Halloween cleanup. The Bunker becomes a permanent memory, Graves becomes a permanent Night 3 modifier choice, Bloodmoon cycles back into the Night 2 modifier pool.

The whole arc lines up with the Quality of Life 2026 patch that followed in January 2026, which folded the Lakeview Ghost into the broader Lakeview Camp survival roster.

What’s actually new in Halloween 2025

Three pillars carry the event, and each one maps to a dedicated guide so you don’t have to read this whole page when you’re chasing a single reward.

1. The Bunker memory. Scripted five-stage narrative under the residence. It’s the hardest of the three Memories because of powerless segments and underground audio cues. Read the Bunker guide for stage-by-stage routing and the new ghost voicelines that drop for completion.

2. Graves modifier on Night 3. Resurrects a defensive twist: every player who dies becomes a slow shambler that other survivors can revive at the cost of Generator fuel. It changes Night 3 routing completely — read the Graves modifier page before queuing the badge.

3. Badge routes. Two new badges and one rerun:

  • Bloodmoon (rerun) — Night 2 modifier stack that grants the Camper cosmetic set. Cleared in the Bloodmoon event guide.
  • Purgatory (new) — Night 3 + Graves combo that grants the Crimson Graves cosmetic set. Cleared in the Purgatory badge guide.
  • Crimson Vault — optional sub-badge for finishing The Bunker with zero deaths, grants the Vessel cosmetic set.

If you’re still ramping up, the Halloween 2025 event update article is the canonical patch-note version of this same story — keep it bookmarked when new modifiers cycle in.

Co-op routing for the event

Residence Massacre is online co-op only, so every route below assumes at least two players. Solo players can clear most badge routes with tighter timing and a smaller camera footprint, but the Purgatory badge in particular wants a full team.

Pre-night prep (everyone):

  1. Stock two Gas Cans on the Generator before dusk — Graves modifier doubles fuel burn.
  2. Pre-place cameras at Cabin 3, Piano Room, and Bunker hatch. The Lakeview Ghost whisper route only triggers if Cabin 3 has eyes on it.
  3. Stage the Shotgun near the Fuse Box. Shotgun shells get consumed faster under Graves because shambler kills count toward your ammo pool.

Night 1 routing under Halloween conditions: The Mutant gets the closet QTE treatment as usual. Halloween-exclusive: the Bunker hatch will creak open at 21:00 server time even on Night 1. Don’t go down there alone — The Spider hunts the lower halls until Night 3.

Night 2 routing: The Stalker’s audio cues get a Halloween reverb layer. Players who learned the Night 2 modifier set will recognize the Esqueletos audio cue doubling as a Bloodmoon trigger if you’ve already cleared the Bloodmoon route once.

Night 3 routing: This is where Graves makes the difference. Read the Graves modifier page before queuing. The Night 3 base walkthrough covers the pre-event version; the Night 3 modifiers page covers the post-event variant.

Halloween-exclusive cosmetics and where they drop

  • Camper set — Bloodmoon badge completion, October 2025 onwards. Reskins the default cabin outfit with a blood-moon motif.
  • Vessel set — Crimson Vault sub-badge completion. Reskins the survivor loadout with vault-door motifs and a faint glow.
  • Crimson Graves set — Purgatory badge completion. Reskins the survivor loadout with the Graves color palette and a unique walk animation.
  • Witch Hat — first clear of The Bunker memory during the event window. Stays in the inventory permanently.
  • Phantom Lantern — handed out via the trick-or-treat crate refund on November 1, 2025 for players who logged in during the launch window.

For the broader cosmetic catalogue outside the event window, see the Tier List hub and the Cosmetics tier list.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need the Halloween 2025 event to access The Bunker memory?

No. After the November 23, 2025 cleanup patch, The Bunker became a permanent memory in the Memories rotation. The Halloween 2025 launch just made it the debut window for the Crimson Vault sub-badge and the Witch Hat cosmetic.

Can I solo the Purgatory badge?

Technically yes, but expect to spend 90+ minutes per attempt. The Graves modifier forces you to choose between reviving shambler teammates and refueling the Generator; solo players can only do one of those. Most Purgatory clears happen in a four-player party.

Does the Bloodmoon badge carry over from earlier years?

No. Each Halloween event rerun grants a fresh Bloodmoon badge with that year’s timestamp. Players who cleared the 2024 Bloodmoon run keep their 2024 cosmetic reward; the 2025 Camper set is a separate clear.

What happens to my Lakeview Ghost progress if I missed the event?

The whisper route stays accessible year-round as part of Lakeview Camp content, but the unique voicelines that played only during the October 24 – November 23 window are archived as dev commentary in the official links Discord. You can still earn the Lakeview Ghost entity page lore entry without the audio files.

Is the Graves modifier still active outside Halloween?

Yes. After the November 23, 2025 cleanup, Graves joined the permanent Night 3 modifier pool alongside Esqueletos, Bloodmoon, and the original Night 3 modifiers list. It rotates every two weeks on the Daily Quests rotation.

Where do I report a bug from the event?

Use the in-game report button or the official links page. Tea Studio triages event-exploit reports within 48 hours during the launch window and within a week after cleanup.
