Residence Massacre Night 1 TV, Satellite, and Police Cars
How to restore the living-room broadcast, share the ladder with cameras, and not get run over at 9PM.
The Night 1 Rework (August 21, 2026) did more than remodel The Mutant and add a closet QTE. It also put a broken satellite, a living-room television, and 9PM police traffic into the rural house loop. Players searching “Night 1 secrets” or “secret TV event” are looking for this page — not a hidden Night 4 skip. Place ID 14437001043. Online co-op. No promo codes.
The walkthrough video is a full rework clear; watch the daylight segment for ladder, wrench, and TV routing, then return here for the exact 9PM beats. Pair this with the survival checklist on Night 1 and Camera Setup because the same ladder serves cameras and the satellite.
Why the TV stays on static
The television sits on a drawer in the living room. Side buttons toggle power, but the screen shows static until the satellite dish on the side of the house is repaired. If you skip the dish, you miss the only in-house news cut that names the Robloxia Factory chemical spill — the same spill that frames Night 2 and later memories.
This is flavor and routing practice, not a required survival objective. You can clear Night 1 without ever turning the TV on. Do it anyway on a learning run: it teaches wrench + ladder discipline you will reuse on the fuse box and cameras.
Prep order: radio first, then ladder
Time is frozen until someone clicks the radio and hears the government broadcast (“remain indoors and seal all windows and doors”). Interacting with the shed ladder or the upstairs plank pile before that radio click prints a thought: “It’s not the moment.” Do not fight the prompt — finish the intro, then loot.
Daylight runs from 4PM to midnight. That is enough time for cameras, barricades, generator fuel, fuse check, and the satellite if you do not tour the woods twice. Assign roles:
- Ladder owner — shed ladder, camera ghosts, satellite, then put the ladder down where the next teammate can see it.
- Wrench owner — satellite repair, then fuse box standby (Barricades & Generator).
- Camera caller — four placements from Camera Setup so Technician still completes.
- Floater — gas can, flashlight, Bloxy Cola.
The ladder is fragile. Using it as a toy path or dropping it in a chase can break it. You get one honest tool for cameras and the dish. If it snaps, you lose remaining camera spots and the TV secret for that run.
Satellite location and repair
The dish starts broken on the side of the house next to the fuse box (back-right exterior relative to the front door on the current rework layout). Place the ladder on the ghost ladder under the dish, equip a Wrench from indoor loot (count scales with player count), and interact. A successful repair pops the dish into place. That is the only hardware gate for the TV.
Do this before you commit the ladder to the last camera tree if you care about the broadcast. Many pubs finish four cameras and forget the dish; the inverse also happens — TV watchers steal the ladder and Technician fails. Talk it out: two camera placements, satellite, remaining cameras is a clean order.
What the TV actually plays
With the satellite up, the living-room set cycles two programs:
- A Noobs Zoo segment.
- A giant zombie program.
Around 9PM those shows cut to black, then a breaking news bumper: “BREAKING NEWS: CHEMICAL SPILL AT ROBLOXIA FACTORY… UNIDENTIFIED SUBSTANCE REPORTED ON SITE.” That headline is the same incident the radio already warned you about, now framed as public media. Before midnight the set returns to static even if the dish is still repaired — the secret is a prep-phase event, not a night-long channel.
You do not get a badge for watching the news. You get lore context for why The Mutant exists and why soldiers later care about the factory (Night 3 ending, The Bunker).
9PM police cars — the lethal “secret”
The same 9PM window sends two police cars down the road beside the house, sirens first. They can run players over. Treat the asphalt like a Night 2 floodlight: do not AFK on the lane while you wait for the news cut. If you are placing the front-yard camera or scavenging roadside loot, step onto grass before sirens peak.
This is the clip people title “NEW NIGHT 1 SECRETS.” It is not a skip; it is a traffic hazard timed with the TV story beat.
What is not a secret
- Closet QTE — documented on Closet QTE, not a TV puzzle.
- Spit traps — Mutant vomit mounds; farm Tripping Hazard on purpose, do not confuse them with satellite parts.
- Night 4 — still unreleased; Night 4 status. Soldiers in the Night 3 ending are foreshadowing, not a dish code.
- Promo codes on the news ticker — there are none. Active Codes.
Co-op callouts
- “Ladder on dish” / “ladder on tree three” so two people do not yank the same tool.
- “Wrench on satellite” then “wrench on fuse.”
- “Cars in 9” meaning stay off the road.
- “TV live” meaning the dish worked; optional, never delay barricades for a second watch.
Solo: radio → wrench + flashlight loot → ladder to dish → two priority cameras → barricades → generator → remaining cameras. If daylight is gone, skip the TV. Survival beats lore.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Residence Massacre survivors.
How do you fix the Night 1 TV in Residence Massacre?
Listen to the radio first, place the shed ladder under the broken satellite beside the fuse box, repair it with a Wrench, then power the living-room television.
What time is the Night 1 news broadcast?
Around 9PM the TV cuts from filler programs to factory-spill breaking news. It returns to static before midnight. Police cars share that 9PM window.
Can the Night 1 police cars kill you?
Yes. Two police cars drive the road near the house around 9PM and can run players over. Stay off the asphalt when sirens approach.
Do you need the TV secret to survive Night 1?
No. The satellite and news cut are optional lore. Clear barricades, cameras, generator, and closet QTE first.
Why can't I pick up the Night 1 ladder?
The ladder and plank pile stay locked until someone plays the intro radio. After that, share one fragile ladder between cameras and the satellite.
