Residence Massacre The Spider — Night 3 Head

The detached Worker head that marks cabins, lunges, and forces The Husk to break your door.

Last updated:

The Spider

The Spider is the detached head of The Worker after the lodge mutation on Night 3. The headless body is The Husk (Mutated Worker). Together they hunt until 6 AM. If your squad only says “Worker,” you will miss mark callouts and die under a bed in a broken cabin. This page is the Spider half. Body kiting, shotgun immunity, and Flare Gun notes sit on The Worker. Place 14437001043. Online co-op. Night 4 is not out.

Lore overlap: Night 3 and The Bunker run the same clock. After you clear bunker ventilation you can hear a door break and scream — that is the lodge mutation happening in parallel, not a second Spider in the bunker.

What The Spider does

  • Marks a player. Marked = The Husk becomes aggressive, destroys that cabin’s door, and if the cabin is already wrecked it grabs you from under the bed.
  • Attacks through windows and holes. Static / stare rules differ from Night 1 Larry — do not treat Spider like a window flashlight scare.
  • Jumps / lunges. A connected lunge is about 40 damage and applies a mark. Spider Sense badge: after the jump, sprint left or right. Standing still is a free hit. Shotgun shots can scare it off a window or hole; that is not the same as Husk shotgun immunity on The Worker.
  • Snowball (Blizzard / Graves stacks) slows The Spider — Sharpshooter is the “hit it with a snowball” badge. You can still earn Sharpshooter out of season if snowballs exist via Undead Pumpkins on Graves + Blizzard (oversight that survived).
  • Flare Gun can scare The Spider. It will not delete the Husk problem if you are already marked in a ruined cabin. Shop items.
  • Cabin lights on slow a break-in. Bloodmoon paints red pupils, speeds attacks, and keeps cabin 4 out of order no matter the party size. Modifiers.

Clean Escape is survive Night 3 without The Spider jumpscaring (marking) anybody. That is a squad discipline badge, not a solo hide in cabin 1 all night.

Cabin rules when Spider is up

  1. Prefer a pristine cabin. Broken door = bed is not a hide.
  2. If you are marked, rotate before Husk arrives. Call “marked, leaving 2”.
  3. Every second shotgun shot lures Husk to that cabin even without a mark. Hide under the bed after even shots. Spider mark on top of that is how pubs wipe.
  4. Stay off the main path. Trees snag Husk; they do less for a flying head — keep moving.
  5. Trail cameras exist so the player who is not kiting can call Spider position. Solo: you cannot watch both — Solo or bring Radar if the shop copy is legal on Night 3 for your loadout.

Home Wrecker is the opposite flex: let Husk destroy every cabin door after marks. Do that on purpose, not by accident on a Lakeview Camper first clear.

Modifiers and reskins

Night 3 Graves and Blizzard change Husk more than Spider (Headless Horseman / tree arms). Spider still marks. Christmas 2025 teasers showed a Spider blizzard reskin — treat visuals as cosmetic unless a patch note says otherwise. Christmas 2025. Purgatory is a Bunker Bloodmoon badge (Vessel outfit), not a Spider form.

Undead pumpkin packs on Graves do not make Spider an Undead. Flare Gun still follows the “no Undead” rule on those adds, not on Spider itself.

Co-op vocabulary

CallMeaning
MarkedSpider tag — expect door break
JumpDodge left/right for Spider Sense
Cabin deadDoor gone; bed unsafe
Rotate 3Move to cabin 3 now
Don’t second-shotEven shotgun will pull Husk

Easy Trigger is three shotgun hits on Mutated Worker (Husk), not on the head. Big Brother is 30 seconds of Husk on camera, not Spider.

  • Night 3 walkthrough — gas cans, lodge cutscene, shotgun.
  • The Worker — ally on Night 2, truck in Endless, Husk kit.
  • Anomalies — full roster including Pest and Abomination.
  • Outfits — Camper / Remnant are Night 3 Bloodmoon / chaos, not Spider skins.

The Worker was your friend at the factory. The Spider is why you do not stand in the doorway to screenshot the head.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Residence Massacre survivors.

What is The Spider in Residence Massacre?

The Worker's detached head on Night 3. It marks players so The Husk breaks cabin doors and can pull people out from under beds.

How do you get the Spider Sense badge?

When The Spider jumps, dodge left or right instead of eating the lunge. The badge awards the Camp Headlight hat.

Does the Flare Gun work on The Spider?

It can scare The Spider. It does not stun The Stalker or Undeads. Use it as a panic button, not as your only Night 3 plan.

What is Clean Escape?

Survive Night 3 without The Spider marking anyone. It is a no-jumpscare-mark clear, not a no-Husk clear.

Is The Spider in The Bunker?

No. The Bunker fights The Abomination. You may hear the lodge mutation audio because both memories share the night's clock.
