Residence Massacre Night 3 Cabin Modifiers
Graves, Bloodmoon, Blizzard, and Purgatory on the cabins — what changes, what kills you, and how to prepare.
Night 3 is already the hardest night before modifiers land. The cabin map brings The Husk and The Spider from the mutated Worker, tighter spaces than the factory, and a truck escape that demands gas cans while monsters pressure every cabin. Stack modifiers on top of that and you need a squad that calls marks, door breaks, and shotgun counts without hesitation. This page is the stack manual for the cabin map. Read Night 3 first so base loop (gas cans, lodge cutscene, cabin siege) is fluent.

What Night 3 modifiers actually affect
Night 3 modifiers on the cabin map behave differently from Night 1 or Night 2 because:
- No generator — power management is simpler; cabin lights are binary.
- No floodlights — Mutant-style window scares do not apply; Husk and Spider use different breach rules.
- Cabin doors and beds are the primary survival objects, not barricades and flashlights.
- Gas cans are the objective, not a power accessory.
The modifiers that reach Night 3 are: Graves, Bloodmoon, Blizzard, and the Purgatory route tied to The Bunker memory.
Graves on Night 3
Graves was unlocked during Halloween 2025 (October 24 – November 23, 2025) by default. Post-event it requires beating Night 3 with the Graves modifier active or owning the Graves badge.
On the cabin map, Graves adds:
- Gravestones and ambient Halloween decorations around the campground.
- Grave visit mechanic — similar to Night 1 Graves but on the cabin map terrain. Players can interact with graves for minor buffs or lore.
- Husk and Spider retain their standard behavior; Graves does not spawn additional anomalies on Night 3.
- No zombie equivalents on Night 3 — Graves on Night 3 is atmosphere and minor interaction rather than a spawn management challenge like Night 1 Graves.
The primary challenge of Night 3 Graves is cosmetic distraction and audio unfamiliarity. Cabin routing stays the same; the campground just looks different.
Bloodmoon on Night 3
Bloodmoon on Night 3 is unlocked by beating Night 3 once. Changes:
- Daytime shorter — prep is compressed. Assign roles faster.
- Husk faster and more aggressive — cabin door breaks happen sooner after marks or shotgun shots.
- Spider faster — mark-to-grab windows shrink.
- Thicker fog — visibility around cabins decreases. Trail cameras become more valuable.
- Spider can appear more frequently — mark chains can stack faster.
- Cabin 4 is out of order regardless of player count.
Bloodmoon on Night 3 is the baseline for Chaos runs. Once your squad can clear Bloodmoon Night 3 reliably, adding Graves or Blizzard is the next difficulty step.
Blizzard on Night 3
Blizzard on Night 3 was introduced during Christmas 2025 (December 19, 2025 – January 9, 2026) and unlocked by default for that window. Post-event it requires the Blizzard badge or beating Night 3 with Blizzard active.
The Blizzard mechanic on Night 3:
- Outdoor freeze — after about 20 seconds outside without warmth, players take 10 damage per second.
- Cabins provide warmth — staying inside a cabin prevents freeze damage.
- Fireplace mechanics — some cabins have fireplaces that require logs to keep warm when players are inside.
- Husk and Spider behavior unchanged — Blizzard affects players, not anomalies.
- Gas can runs are riskier — leaving a cabin to fetch gas cans in a blizzard means managing freeze timers alongside Spider marks.
- The Snowball item appears in map drops; it slows The Spider — Sharpshooter badge is achievable by hitting Spider with Snowball.
Blizzard on Night 3 is significantly harder than Blizzard on Night 1 or Night 2 because the outdoor objective (gas cans, truck) forces repeated freeze exposure.
Purgatory — Bunker Bloodmoon
Purgatory is not a Night 3 modifier in the lobby selector. It is a Bunker memory variant unlocked by surviving The Bunker with the Bloodmoon modifier active. It awards the Vessel outfit after Outfit Changes.
Purgatory on The Bunker:
- Abomination skin turns grey with blood and red pupils
- Sound meter thresholds change — Abomination is more aggressive
- Camera and flare discipline must be tighter
- Badge: Purgatory — survive The Bunker on Bloodmoon
The confusion with Night 3 Purgatory arises because the Purgatory badge name appears in some community discussions as a Night 3 modifier. This is incorrect — Purgatory is exclusively a Bunker Memory modifier. Night 3 does not have a Purgatory modifier.
Stack strategy for Night 3 modifiers
Night 3 modifier stacking follows a clear progression:
| Stack | Difficulty | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Bloodmoon only | High | Faster Husk/Spider, shorter prep, fog |
| Graves only | Moderate | Cosmetic change only; gameplay same |
| Blizzard only | Extreme | Freeze on every gas can run |
| Bloodmoon + Graves | Very high | Speed pressure + visual noise |
| Bloodmoon + Blizzard | Extreme | Speed + freeze + outdoor objectives |
| Graves + Blizzard | Extreme | Freeze + cosmetic distraction |
| Bloodmoon + Graves + Blizzard | Brutal | Reserve for dedicated squads |
Do not add Graves to a Blizzard Night 3 on your first attempt. Freeze management alone is hard enough without cosmetic changes that alter audio cues.
Co-op role cheat sheet for Night 3 modifiers
| Role | Base job | Modifier note |
|---|---|---|
| Caller | Cameras, mark calls | Bloodmoon: Spider faster; call marks earlier |
| Gas runner | Fetch gas cans | Blizzard: minimize outdoor time; plan route before leaving cabin |
| Cabin guard | Door repairs, bed position | Bloodmoon: doors break faster; Blizzard: never leave cabin without reason |
| Medic | Medkit, stamina items | Blizzard: freezing players cannot sprint; heal before outdoor runs |
One player watches the weather timer during Blizzard — when a gas run window opens, call it so the gas runner does not die waiting for a call.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Residence Massacre survivors.
What modifiers are available on Night 3?
Graves, Bloodmoon, and Blizzard are the main Night 3 modifiers. Purgatory is a Bunker memory modifier, not a Night 3 lobby modifier.
Is Blizzard on Night 3 harder than Night 1 Blizzard?
Yes. Night 3 requires outdoor gas can runs and truck access while managing freeze timers. Night 1 Blizzard happens in a single building with a fireplace; Night 3 Blizzard forces repeated cold exposure.
What does Bloodmoon change on Night 3?
Shorter prep, faster Husk and Spider, thicker fog, Cabin 4 disabled, and Spider appears more frequently. It is the baseline for high-difficulty Night 3 runs.
What is Purgatory in Residence Massacre?
Purgatory is a Bunker memory modifier unlocked by surviving The Bunker on Bloodmoon. It awards the Vessel outfit. Night 3 does not have a Purgatory modifier.
Does Graves add zombies to Night 3?
No. Graves on Night 3 adds Halloween atmosphere and grave interactions to the cabin map. It does not spawn additional anomalies like Night 1 Graves spawns zombies.
