Residence Massacre Delusion — April Fools Anomaly

The closet-dwelling anomaly during Multiversal + Blizzard — power cuts, damage, and safe closet protocol.

Last updated:

Delusion

Delusion is an anomaly that appears exclusively during the Multiversal + Blizzard modifier stack during the April Fools event in Residence Massacre. He does not appear during standard gameplay, Multiversal alone, or any other modifier combination. He lives in closets and attacks players who open them during a Multiversal + Blizzard run.

Delusion is not a canon Residence Massacre entity. He is joke content from the April Fools event, documented here so players understand the closet mechanic during Multiversal + Blizzard stacks and do not confuse him with any real anomaly behavior.

Place 14437001043. Night 1 map. Multiversal + Blizzard modifiers must both be active.

What Delusion does

Delusion occupies closets. When a player opens a closet containing Delusion, one of two things happens:

  1. Power cut — if the house still has power, Delusion cuts it. All lights go out, the generator strain increases, and visibility drops to near zero.
  2. Damage — if the house power is already off, Delusion deals approximately 35 damage directly to the player who opened the closet.

Both outcomes are punishing. A power cut during Multiversal + Blizzard means the house goes dark, the fireplace becomes harder to manage, and Winterhorn’s presence becomes harder to track. Direct damage at 35 HP per closet can end a run quickly.

How to avoid Delusion

The counterplay to Delusion is simple but requires communication:

  • Never open a closet without checking first — call out “checking closet” before interacting.
  • If Delusion is present in a closet, close the closet immediately — Delusion cannot attack through a closed closet door.
  • The safest strategy is to leave closets closed entirely during Multiversal + Blizzard runs unless absolutely necessary.
  • One designated player can be the closet checker — they approach closets first and call clear or danger.

Delusion and house power state

Delusion’s behavior changes based on whether the house has power:

House power stateDelusion effect
Power onCuts house power (all lights off)
Power offDeals ~35 damage to opener

This means Delusion punishes two different failure modes:

  • Opening a closet while powered = blackout + visibility crisis
  • Opening a closet while dark = direct health damage

Relationship to Winterhorn

Delusion appears alongside Winterhorn during Multiversal + Blizzard. Winterhorn replaces Jerry (hunger mechanic) with cold/freeze mechanics. Delusion adds a third layer of challenge: closet safety.

The combination of:

  • Winterhorn’s freeze pressure (stay warm or take damage)
  • Delusion’s closet threat (never open a closet safely)
  • Blizzard’s outdoor freeze timer

Makes Multiversal + Blizzard one of the hardest modifier combinations in Residence Massacre, even harder than standard Jerry runs.

Co-op protocol for Delusion

Establish these callouts during Multiversal + Blizzard:

  • “Closet clear” — the checked closet is safe to use
  • “Delusion in [location]” — Delusion has been identified in a specific closet
  • “Do not open [room] closets” — command to avoid specific closets during the run
  • “Power cut” — Delusion has triggered; house is dark

One player should be assigned to closet duty. They approach every closet first, call the status, and close it if Delusion is present. No other player opens a closet during the run.

Why April Fools exists in Residence Massacre

April Fools is an annual Roblox tradition that Tea Studio leans into harder than most developers. The original 2025 joke replaced The Mutant with Jerry for a week-long window; the 2026 re-run added Winterhorn and Delusion as a stacked variant. Both Multiversal variants are opt-in only — you must queue a Night 1 run with the Multiversal modifier selected on a car.

The modifier sits outside the normal pool because the win condition changes: instead of “survive The Mutant,” you manage either a hunger bar or a cold/closet matrix. April Fools badges are limited and rarely re-grant. If you care about the Mutation Outfit bar, treat April Fools clears as cosmetic — they usually do not feed the percent.

How April Fools fits the lore

Delusion, Jerry, and Winterhorn are deliberate anti-canon. The Mutant, Lost Soul, Krampus, and Yule Stalker have lore hooks in The Mutant, Halloween 2025, and Christmas 2025. April Fools anomalies do not — they exist to make a familiar map feel foreign for two weeks a year, then disappear.

Players who land on the wiki searching for Robloxian Mutant or Pool Party are usually looking for the April Fools 2025 Pool Party modifier, which transformed Robloxians into Mutants during a separate window. Pool Party is not Delusion, Jerry, or Winterhorn — it is a cosmetic modifier from a different year.
